Zachary Townsend is the Director of Direct Channels at Silicon Valley Bank, where he oversees all programmatic interfaces to the bank’s products. He joined the bank after their acquisition of API-banking startup Standard Treasury, where he was co-founder and head of product. He is a Y Combinator graduate. A published statistician, he is on the Board of Directors of Bayes Impact, was a co-founder at DataKind, and was a was a Research Associate at NYU’s Center for the Promotion of Research Involving Innovative Statistical Methodology (PRIISM). A deep believer in the transformative power of the public sector, he was previously the Senior Technology Policy Advisor and Mayor’s Office Fellow to Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker and did consulting work for the NYPD, the NYC Mayor’s Office, and others.
