Through my work in Smart Cities, Tech policy and Governance, Karen Tay aims to foster win-win collaborations between Tech businesses and Government so that more people can benefit from technological progress. Her goal is ultimately greater social equity and justice; she serves as the founder and editor at www.techandpublicgood.com.

Karen has had extensive experience working in policy, strategic communications and project management. Her work has included implementing major policy reforms in preschool education, higher education, and special needs education to bring about greater inclusivity in Singapore’s education system, starting up new strategic functions in Government, such as a new strategic communications team for the 40,000 strong Ministry of Education (2013), a new strategy consultancy for the Prime Minister’s Office (2015), and a new publicly-funded university in Singapore (The Singapore Institute of Technology), and serving as a political speechwriter and communications adviser to Cabinet Ministers for six years.
